Papelito
It's not just paper, it's Papelito
Some people assume rolling paper is rolling paper and the difference is just price or packaging. But that’s not quite right — and anyone who has ever rolled with a genuinely premium paper knows exactly why.
The quality of premium rolling paper is defined by four fundamental pillars: weight, fiber, burn technology, and material purity.
Understand how each of these elements impacts your experience.
Paper Weight: The Balance That Defines the Experience
Paper weight (g/m² — grams per square meter) is the criterion that simultaneously defines strength, lightness, and feel in a rolling paper.
What makes paper weight a true differentiator is calibrating it per product — not applying the same number across an entire line.
| grammage | What it means |
|---|---|
| Above 20 g/m² | Thick, burns quickly, significantly affects the flavor. |
| 16–19 g/m² | Okay. Durable, steady burn—but there’s room to go further. |
| 14 g/m² → Papelito | Light, smooth burn, less paper in contact with the smoke. |
| Less than 12 g/m² | Ultra-thin. It requires very high-quality fiber so it doesn’t tear. |
At Papelito, each paper is weighted for what it’s designed to be. The Insane lines reach 12.5 g/m². Alfafa works at 13 g/m². Pink, at 14 g/m², delivers a slightly more structured feel that suits the line’s identity.
Fiber: what’s inside the paper
The type of fiber determines the tactile experience, the strength, and the overall performance of the paper. Traditional white cellulose. Unbleached fiber for the brown. Hemp fiber for the hemp. Natural dye compositions for the pink and alfafa. These are distinct materials with distinct behaviors, serving distinct preferences.
A premium rolling paper brand doesn’t pick one fiber and call it done. On the contrary, it masters each of them and calibrates the production process to get the best from every material
White Paper — the classic
The most common type on the market. Bleached to achieve that white color we’re used to seeing. Good durability, steady burn. It’s the foundation of the classic Papelito—a best-seller for a reason.

Hemp fiber — distinct strength
Hemp fiber is naturally longer. The paper is stronger—at the same weight—and has a slightly different texture. Papelito’s Hemp line uses pure hemp fiber. Anyone who tries it understands immediately.

French ultrafine fiber — the highest standard and Premium line
The ultra-fine fiber of French origin is what makes it possible to create an extremely thin paper without compromising its structure. It is the same raw material used in Europe—and which Papelito has started producing here in Brazil. It is featured in the Insane White, Insane Brown, Pink, and Alfafa lines.
Before Papelito, this didn’t exist in Latin American production. That’s no exaggeration—it’s history.

No bleaching — Brown Paper: the most natural
Brown paper does not undergo a bleaching process. The brown color? It is the natural color of pure cellulose, without chemical intervention. The taste is more neutral.

Diamond Burn®: Papelito’s proprietary technology
Here is something most brands don’t say. After all, most of them don’t have the same quality as ours.
Manufacturing matters more than paper weight. Exclusive Diamond Burn® technology works on the fibers to ensure a slow, even, and stable burn.
Featured across the entire Papelito paper line.
GOOD TO KNOW
An even burn also reduces incomplete combustion—which is precisely what generates the most harmful substances in the smoke. Diamond Burn isn’t just about aesthetics; it serves a real function.
What shouldn’t be on paper
The quality of Papelito rolling papers isn’t just about what’s in them. It’s also about what isn’t.
- Solvents and pesticides
- PFAS (perfluoroalkyl substances)
- Mineral oils and allergens
- Toxic substances and endocrine disruptors
- OGM
Vegan gummy. Natural coloring. Cruelty-free formula. We reduce impact without compromising on quality.
In the End, the Difference Is Felt
No description captures it better than experience. However, understanding what goes into a premium rolling paper helps you realize that the choice matters — and why it’s worth making it with intention.
In summary, premium rolling papers aren’t just more expensive paper. They’re the result of precise decisions about weight, fiber, porosity, additives, and process.
That’s why knowing these criteria is what makes for a truly informed choice.
